Meet the Team

At Athens Media, our team brings a combined 25 years of experience in political advocacy, public relations, and social media marketing.

Since our founding in 2021, we’ve executed issue advocacy campaigns in the public sector that have resulted in dozens of public policy reforms and real world outcomes. We are seasoned media operatives, political strategists, and creative experts that love to win.

Rachel Reid

Director of Operations

Rachel has spent over eight years working at the intersection of politics, public policy, and media strategy. She previously served as Director of External Affairs at Americans for Prosperity, where she built out the organization's approach to traditional media relations while pioneering new strategies for reaching audiences who no longer answer phone banking calls or their doors.

Recognizing that the next generation is being shaped online, Rachel launched AFP's first-ever influencer campaign, an effort that shifted public narrative on a major policy fight and built the grassroots support needed to win.

That early success became the blueprint for a scalable model, and in 2024 Rachel joined Athens Media to expand the approach across a broader roster of clients, helping causes and candidates build real digital groundswell instead of relying on outdated outreach.

In 2021, Hannah founded Athens Media, a digital advocacy agency that partners with clients and influencers to move the political needle. Given her background in political organizing, lobbying, and media, she combined her expertise to build a new model of activism - one that brings essential political functions like grassroots mobilization, public relations, education, and pressure campaigns into the digital era.

For nearly three years, Hannah served as Senior National Manager of Conservatives Concerned About the Death Penalty, during which time she overturned capital punishment in three states—all with bipartisan support. Prior to this, she worked with the Beacon Center of Tennessee, playing a key role in multiple public policy reforms and pro-bono litigation wins. From 2021 to 2022, Hannah was the Content Manager and Brand Ambassador for the Foundation for Economic Education (FEE).

In 2020, Cox began merging her real world activism with her social media platforms. Her show, Based, launched in 2020, quickly entered the top 10% of podcasts and she found herself working as a political “influencer” as her work attracted the attention of followers, lawmakers, and the mainstream media. But she wasn’t satisfied with getting clicks alone. While many creators use their platforms to sell shoes, Cox decided to use hers to sell ideas—launching Athens Media in 2021.
